2017 Sucked

So it's been a whole year since we really sat down and talked about what's been going on at NOKORIWARE. A lot of you have probably lost a bit of faith in us to deliver by now, and rightfully so, but I want to try and take a minute to tell you why we've been so reclusive.

I'm Brayden, my friend Daniel and I have been working on We Shall Wake, NNGINE, and Robot Farm since we were teenagers. Normally we try to avoid naming the members of the team unless its vital to what our jobs are and explaining parts of our progress, but this time it's a bit more personal.

Since about 2014, I've had some health issues that have made me pretty sick. Due to some unfortunate real life circumstances, they hit an apex in 2017 and I had to get two surgeries. I ended up having to take a break from school and try and get my bearings back. In fact, this Spring semester is my first back since last Spring. This all took a very large toll on what I could output for our projects, and as such, Robot Farm's goal of a 2017 release has now turned into hopefully a 2018-2019 release. This is the extreme abridged version... It was very rough, but I don't want to be melodramatic, nor do I really want to get into the details. I'm not 100% yet, but I'm making strides to improve.

With that out of the way, we're starting to make decent progress again, we've rewritten the gameplay engine for Robot Farm to properly address everyone's feedback from last January. This includes scrapping the world generator for a hand-made world editor that combines generated elements that are guided by humans. The combat has been overhauled to hopefully have more exciting gameplay elements, and the graphics are getting a face-lift to hopefully meet your expectations more. Videos showcasing these will be coming soon, we're just waiting on art right now. Remember - we're working on pretty much no budget. Because you know, broke college students.

Also, we re-opened our Patreon. If you want to contribute, you can find it here:

It's not something we really rely on, but any amount you can give helps. It makes things go a bit faster on our end since we don't have to wait on personal incomes to buy more resources for the game.

Also, by the way, happy Valentines!
